Clients often ask about books or other resources they can look at to help them on their journey to achieving their goals, so I've made a list of some of my favourites here.  Have a look on my other site too here - there are some different ones there!

'How to Save an Hour Every Day' by Michael Heppell

Time management is a constant theme in many coaching conversations.  There is lots a coach can do to help you identify your real priorities and get the most out of your time, and this book adds some really helpful, practical tips.  Click on the image to find out more and buy.

'Stop Talking, Start Doing: A Kick in the Pants in Six Parts' by Shaa Wasmund and Richard Newton

This is a great book to really help you get going - whatever you want to achieve you have to take the first step and get moving.

'Waiting is futile. Starting is progress.'  This book will help you get started, and it's a lot of fun too.

'Make Your Bed: Small things that can change your life... and maybe the world' by William H. McRaven

If you haven't seen the YouTube clip of US Navy SEAL Admiral McRaven addressing the University of Texas then it's well worth a look (click here).  This great little book translates the philosophy of the Navy SEALs into ten little rules for life.

'One Red Paperclip - The Story Of How One Man Changed His Life One Swap At A Time' by Kyle MacDonald

Inspirational and entertaining!  Kyle MacDonald managed to swap a paperclip for a pen, then the pen for a doorknob, and so on until he ended up with a house!  A great journey with some words of wisdom along the way.

'The Chimp Paradox - the Mind Management Programme for Confidence, Success and Happiness' by Prof Steve Peters

I believe everyone has the ability to choose their attitude, and as Zig Ziglar said "Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude."

Choosing your attitude can be difficult, but this book can help. It has some really useful content to help you understand how your mind works and how you can learn to take control and build a success mindset.

In all honesty, there are parts I found long-winded and some of the terminology could be irritating, but it's well worth reading all the same!

'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying - A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing' by Bronnie Ware

This is really a memoir - Bronnie Ware is an Australian nurse who spent much of her career working in end-of-life care and this is her story. This is quite a spiritual read that may not suit everyone, but it is inspiring and the lessons learned - the Top Five Regrets - are powerful and well worth thinking about.  What's truly important in your life??

'SHINE: Rediscovering your Energy, Happiness and Purpose' by Andy Cope and Gavin Oattes

As a coach I read a lot of personal development and self help books - this is one of my favourites.

Funny, engaging and easy to read, it’s well worth picking up. Gav Oattes and Andy Cope manage to get across really powerful messages and helpful ideas and concepts without pages and pages of repetitive waffle or psycho-babble (both things that a number of otherwise really good books suffer from in my opinion!).
