Facilitation
Effective facilitation is all about supporting a group of people in having a more meaningful, useful and productive conversation; a neutral third party helping them to reach agreement and move forward.
It's not about influencing the discussion; it's about enabling the discussion.
There are a number of different tools and techniques that we can employ when acting as a facilitator, including:
Encouraging team working, helping groups get to know each other, communicate better and recognise the different strengths people bring.
Group learning, helping participants share experiences and ideas, drawing out key themes and moving forward as a collective.
Challenging groups; helping them to think differently and break away from the status quo, helping them grow in new ways.
Group coaching, helping focus on core issues and motivating participants towards action.
